Last night, there was a show on the Cooking channel called the BBQ Circuit. The show was a rerun from probably 7-8 years ago.

But one thing said on the show really reminded why we are so fortunate to have this forum. Lee McBride of Music City Pig Pals stated that being a member of the bbq community was all about giving back. Sharing ideas, cooking methods, and knowledge gleaned from the queing process.

It was a very insightful statement and reminded me of why this forum exists; to give back.

Thanks Russ and Cookshack for making it possible!!!

John I agree, even though I considered myself a halfway decent cook before I got my CS smokers, there is NO WAY that I could be where I am now with BBQ if not for this forum. Everyone here is so helpful and willing to share ideas. I for one don't want to compete, but I do want to turn out the best product that I can to friends and family. I love being able to read and ask fellow Cooks for new ideas and solutions AND share what little I know that make this forum and others so GREAT. Thanks to all (CS,Forum moderators = "SmokinOkie" Big Grin and most of all the members) that make this forum what it is.....

Russ, aka SmokinOkie definitely deserves a pat on the back for all he's done in developing this into the forum it is today. I can't begin to imagine how many hours he's invested here. Well done, sir. Thanks!

Now pour a Margarita and grab a lounge chair out there on your new deck. Smiler
I think it's great that not only do we have competition cooks to gather information from, but we also have Head Chefs as well as some pretty fair back yard BBQ'ers. It seems no matter what some one wants information on, some one will try to help and usually it is several people that join in. I don't know of any other forum that this happens on. Let's all keep it going.

I really think RibDog makes a good point about rerun,7-8 yrs ago. If it wasn't for those members of the CS family that was so gracious in sharing in the past, many of us later cooks may not have had the pleasure to give back for what was received.

I'm sure some of them dropping by or lurking from time to time get a good chuckle out of the newer digital displays, plug in probes...they might even wonder if the new cooks could tell if something was done, by just touching.

Yep, hope Smokin's deck has a computer terminal, because we wouldn't want him to get behind on the work he does on the forum, ya know...I for one appreciate all the OLD timers...LOL!

Thanks to all the CS veterans!
Guys,

I get credit from you guys (thanks), but you need to realize how much YOU do to create this. I just moderate and add my few comments here and there (just 12,159 posts later).

But what MAKES this forum is everyone helps everyone. I've purposely over the years stepped back more and more because all of you have stepped up.

Oh, and I have wireless on the deck, I just don't take my PC OR my TV out there. It's an escape, not a new place to work.
