Headed to pick up the 500 soon. Thought maybe the family could make a long weekend of it (it's a 9 hour drive).
any recommendations on something for a family of 5 to do on a weekend in Ponca City or very near by?

Take em to BBQ World Its a great amusment park there in Ponca City Wild rides like the Boiled Rib and The Pellet Feeder
There is a very good mexican restuarant at the municipal airport in Ponca City. We always stop there if we are in the area.
I thought BBQ World was in California- isn't it BBQ Land in Ponca City?
I guess I'm hearing there's not much there. We can probably hit the OK City memorial on the way we maybe we'll find things there to do.

There are quite a few things to see in OKC. The Memorial is just North of Bricktown which has Toby Keith's bar and restaurant,a canal with lots of eating places. Cowboy Museum in NE OKC and easy to get to from downtown.Vietnamese grocery,restaurants also close to downtown.Everything is close to downtown. It is nice to have a small size city.
