If it's not already available you know it's got to be in the works... a thermometer that can pick up a WiFi signal that you can connect to remotely via browser on your computer, or mobile device. Seen anything like it yet?
Down here around the Space Center we would have guys write programs ,even for Smokettes,to track every temp change on multiple probes for the total cook cycle on a pork butt in real time,so they could share with other fans on their NASA computers.
Not sure why,or whether they could cook anything, but they seemed to have fun playing with them.
I know this is an old thread, but yes, there is a wifi thermometer- the CyberQ. Have one, and love it! It does a lot more than send temps, but I only use it for that purpose. It's pricey....
An inexpensive Wi-Fi camera along with a smartphone APP is all that's needed for simply monitoring the CS display; just mount the camera pointed at the display. Controlling a CS would require something from CS, which prolly ain't gonna be cheep.
