Is the spacing between racks the same in these 2 models. I have loved my 08 for several years, but the pork butt is really jammed in at times. Just a half inch more would be nice...
In any case I have a real jones for more CAPACITY so I am considering the 50. Especially witht the current 10% off.
Also would it be appropriate to post a for sale offer on this forum -for the 08. I could try ebay with local pickup only, but I bet there is more interest at this site.

Thanks

The distance between the shelves is the same: 5". The 10% off offer is good through June 18, in honor of Father's Day. You can remove shelves as needed, though, for larger items.

We don't encourage selling used Cookshack smokers on the forum, but maybe someone will e-mail you privately.
I went with the model 50 even though I don't often cook for crowds. It is very nice to have the extra shelves and leave some out. Also when I am lazy about foiling the bottom and may just be doing some small items I place a foil pan on the lower shelf to catch grease. Also you can hang full slabs of ribs on the rib hooks.

I am sure that this has been discussed many times over...but, other than capacity and heating element wattage, why should I choose the 50 over the 008? Will the results of my Q be any different? I don't anticipate cooking for more than 10 people at a time.

Thank you,
JustADude
Nope, the results will be the same when you learn to use it properly. They are both 250* max temp ovens. You can hang full slabs in the 50. I cut them in half to hang in my 008. If money is no object, I would get the 50, just in case you need to feed a crowd. Don't forget the cover, rib hooks, seafood grate, extra wood, etc.

Cool
