I have the opportunity to purchase two FE100's for 3k. Seems like a great deal, and they are slightly used. twice on one and four times on the other. Does this seem like a good deal to everyone? The only catch is that I have to go to Cal from Denver to pick them up, but that can be turned into a nice little vacation.
I do compete and think that I should NOT pass up this deal, anyone?

I do know them and have for almost ten years now, so I trust that what they say is true. I left a message last night for them and I should know today the mfg. dates.
It will be hard to retire my Klose from competition, but truth be told, after moving to Denver from the San Francisco area, I am having a hell of a time trying to keep the pit going, let alone staying at a consistant temp. Let's not even mention the 3 times amount of charcoal, thanks lack of altitude oxygen.
Plus if I can't keep it lit at 5280 what happens when I compete at 8000-9000 feet?
Fast Eddie to the rescue!

Are you the Big Moose BBQ from Antioch??
If so, I wondered where you disappeared to.
Greg and Kellie Hoffhous didn't know where you went either.
Doc, I knew you were kidding, I actually laughed and showed my wife the post too, we cracked up.
Love Shack BBQ, yes, I am Big Moose from Antioch, I was in touch with Gregg and Kellie since I've been here but lost touch with them again about oh, a year or so ago. Feel free to email me at dsmith@rmdsigns.com.
