Just checking before I have to pony up the additional dough to get a higher grade mixer. I understand that it won't do much at a time but if it works, I will try it out.
We have one at the house, it is the Kitchenaid professional series. It mostly sees use around the holidays when we are making more things and having more company. There are 4 in our household and we have not had any instances, even when we have a large number of people over that we have had any issues with capacity. It has served us well for the last couple of years.
That's great to hear. I am going to try it out. I love the mixer but that thing is just ginormous and doesn't really set on the countertop all that well being fire engine red.
I am setting up a garage table with the mixer and other food prep stuff so I can just build a big cover for it, keep it sanitized and have it ready to roll whenever since I just don't have the $13k lying around to buy that Cookshack Trailer kitchen bbq deal, that thing is amazing.
I use a home model Kitchenaid mixer and mix about 3# of sausage at a time. It only takes a couple of minutes per batch. This does a good job of incorporating spices and liquids into the ground meat.
You can't go wrong with a KitchenAid mixer. Mine is around 20 years old and gets used quite a bit; mostly for baking but also for pastas and grinding meats for sausage. Definitely a work horse; never had any problems with it. Mine is the lift head model, which I prefer over the tilt. If you're going to invest in something that will last you a lifetime make sure you get the color that works for you.
