Ok, lately my jerky batches have been coming out different tasting and I'm not sure why. I do the exact same marinade each time. A batch I made a few weeks ago was so good, it was the best I ever tasted! Then a few days later I do another batch, and its good, but no where near the last batch. I am wondering if its different meat, I mean the same kind...just from a different place. Or could it be one was more frozen when I cut and marinated it? Any suggestions?

I have been using Abes for a very long time with no problems. I tried High Mountain once and hated it! Maybe I got a bad cow...you know, those dairy cows they are selling? I am trying a different seasoning, and just got done putting it in the marinade. If it tastes as good as it smells...watch out!
I made a 5 lb batch of jerky marinading in Yoshida Teriyaki sauce and Tenderquick for 48 hrs. Threw it into the Elite at 225* on jerky rods for 4.5 hrs, GLH Method.

It was my best batch yet. Very tasty and perfect texture. Drove down to Palm Springs (here now) with another couple to join them at their timeshare. We ate the jerky on the trip down, and it was a big, big hit. As big as the smoked garlic almonds we snacked on also. My daughter and grandkids are housesitting for us munching on LCNSac's smoked almonds I made last week. I love my Cookshack.
