Buying additional round grates

I searched high and low (in Orange County, CA) for someone selling round cooking grates. I have 12 levels that I could use but only 2 round grates (I believe 16")...Anybody know where to locate additional grates? The ones that came with my New Braunfels Smokehouse Smoker are shiny and black (porcelin???)...These have to be seasoned - Yes? Coat with oil and cook for how long (to season the grates and inside of smoker)?

If they are porcelain coated you don't need to season them. You only need to season plain cast iron. But you should lightly oil them each time you use them to keep food from sticking.

I'd check the New Braunfels web site on the grates. That's assuming they have one. Also might check www.allpartsgrills.com, or give them a call.

I was at an ACE hardware store checking out all the smoking stuff,cool! Can't remember all the sizes, but they had a bunch of round grates.Might check them out if you have one around you, or look online.
