For the last 10 years or better I relied on American Harvest-Nesco dehydrators for my ground chuck jerky.I just got rid of that unit to a grandson of mine and bought the new fangled Excalibur dehydrator for jerky purposes.I put on my ground chuck jerky strips at 9 pm and now at 2:26 am I just turned over the strips due to browning one side and not the other. The jerky was super greasy.Guess after the next hour I will have to dab off the extra grease with napkins so it will finish cooking. This is the new 9 tray model(expensive) and is not working as good as the way cheaper Nesco-American Harvest brand.I might have to set up my Smokin Tex 1400 and finish my jerky! As good as the reviews are online about Excalibur,I might have to send this new one back!!!Frowner
