I think I may need a couple of rib racks for an upcoming cook. Does it fit spares pretty well? How many slabs?

I just did 90 lbs go loin backs using the racks. There are slots for ten. The # depends on how thick the ribs are. I filled the racks (all 10 slots) at first they did touch. Soon after there was space in between
3.5 pound St. Louis cut ribs fit tight. I don't think slabs of spares would work.
They would trimmed St. Louis style.
I bought 4 racks so I could space the ribs out instead of using all 10 slots. I put the larger cuts on the bottom and top with extra space on the left (high heat area). Thick side down and to the back. I don't have to rotate them by doing this way.
Need to trim to StL style and they work perfect.

Well YOU gave them the idea, now is they do, we know who gave them that thought.
And I too never thought of doing chicken that way. See, I learn a lot here also.
I've used the rib rack for hanging mass amounts of wings from it to smoke. Just be careful of the temps in the smoker due to the amount grease that chicken will be throwing off.
