So, I came back to my FEC-100 with it turned off. No power, even though the switch was still on. The smell of burnt plastic was in the air.

So I removed the panel cover, and found melted wires.

Obviously I need to replace it, but I am not sure if i could just replace the wires, or if I should purchase new parts.

Parts I believe are needed:
Augur Motor, and Draft Fan.

There is also a metal coated wire that disappears inside another metal box. That is frayed/melted through in 3 different spots. Can you help identify what that goes to?

Thanks

YUP call CS and they will get you squared away. Make doggone sure you don't try to "do it yourself" with just some wires and such. Those guys are so helpful and pleasant to talk to. It's not like you're calling customer service someplace else, it's like you're calling a fellow Q Buddy that wants to help you and have a laugh at the same time.
Ok, so I called CS and was given a few trouble-shooting tasks. I completed them, and got back to CS. Thus we thought it was the Augur Motor.

However, upon closer inspection the Igniter was the actual culprit. I believe some of the protective coating rubbed off and touched metal.

I did have a fire about 2 years ago, would that have deteriorated the igniter wire?
