Welcome to the forum.

Did you mean 45? If it has work properly since 2009 and is just now giving you a problem,  it may need a new controller.  Before going that route,, carefully clean the residue off the box probe.  A dirty probe will affect the controller.  Also, connecting the meat probe without setting a meat temp will cause confusion. If this does not help, send/contact CookShack tech support.

IF you recently bought this used, that may be the reason the prior owner sold it.  Just a thought.

Well, since it is out of warranty, carefully remove to controller and check for corrosion or any loose connections.  Use a soft brush to remove dust and such. Still not performing?  Remove the back of the smoker and wearing rubber gloves and eye protection, carefully pull away the insulation and check the probe wire to the controller.  Make sure to not kink it.  Any loose connections?
