Cookshack is totally awesome. I have a new house with two dedicated 20 amp circuits and a 15 amp circut as well. When I got my new Amerique, I was ready to fire it up for the first seasoning. It turned on for a bit, but than started tripping all of my GFIS, on my 15 amp circuit and my two dedicated 20 amp circuits.
I was having no problem with my Cookshack 36 inch charbroiler but I found out it pulls a couple less amps with all 3 fans and burners working.
I called Cookshack and told the people in service and they sent me a new heating element to change out. It arrived in two days and looked like it had better ends on the element than the original one. They were brass instead of the silver looking metal. Maybe Cookshack got improved ones, don't know.
Taking the back off and playing in the insulation sucked really. Not that it was super hard but that itchy yeller stuff. (: I changed the element out and plugged it in. It worked! It even worked on my 15 amp GFI circuit as well.
I am very happy to be smoking now and will use it for food this weekend. Cookshack is number one. They service guy was very nice and wasn't trying to shuffle me off the phone. The parts came fast and the end result is perfecto. My old element had to have been shorting out!! Thanks Cookshack!
