Ok, heres the latest on my experiments, you all know my complaint about not enough smoke flavor. That problem is solved. First if you look back on my old posts the fan issue was, original fan was 101 cfm, new fans was 140 cfm. more airflow = less smoldering= less smoke.'
I put in a 85 cfm fan, and my temp swings have steadied out to 5-7 degrees instead of 20-30 degrees off. Almost enough to make ya cry lol
Smoke seems to be a more stedy stream of light blue then the occasional bellowing white. first cook going on now, 4 hours in and looking good. More reports later.

Hey Jim, I read a post where someone sealed all the airleaks around the fan and firepot, but in your case your getting enough air. My theory, based on my 20 years in the electronics field (computer hardware) When you order a large lot of anything electronic (like fans) they are mass produced and random sampling is done during production. Thus you may have 100 101cfm fans delivered and 10 or more may be way off spec. I was guessing that mine fell in this range. I dont recommend anyone tinkering with their electronics without gettig some feedback from Cookshack first Smiler I was just doing a fan experiment and it happened to solve my temp swing problem. My next experriment will be with the new 140 cfm fan is to make the speed adjustable hehe I have several fan speed kits for case fans. Ill be in touch!
