I have my new FEC ordered and it should arrive next week. I was just curious as to if anyone had any tips on seasoning the new cooker.

I say just get yourself a couple of pork butts and let them cook away in there. It should be a nice fatty hunk of meat.

You'll get some heat spikes for a few cooks, so don't let the temp swings alarm you. After the walls get black, they will settle down. Just part of a new shiny FEC.
I seasoned mine with a butt, jerky, chicken, beef roast and then a brisket, everything turned out great.
Just load it up and cook a good smoky batch.

What I have done in the past is spray the inside with a non stick spray oil (like Pam). Then turn the unit on and let it run.
