Hi All,

Received my FEC500 out here in southern Ohio on Monday...what an awesome looking machine!!!...after reviewing the info pack I was left questioning if I need to break in the 500 with a presmoke? Or, would it be best to throw a few briskets in for the first smoke? Also, I hope to get some pictures posted tomorrow (its been raining here for a few days, delaying my efforts to get it rolling)...let me know what you guys got...

Put pellets in, turn it on and get it going. Make sure everything works, then just start with some of your favorite Q.

I don't think it's an "absolute" for seasoning, because you don't clean it off each time.

I just picked up Big Red #2 (my FE with the reverse door) and I'll get it going today, let it run overnight to make sure all the circuits, etc are working and start cooking on it tomorrow.
