I have used both brands and have not seen any discernable difference between the two besides the pricing. The Carlisle should run you less for the same size container. That being said, I use a Carlisle these days.

Regarding what size to get, just consider how many four inch hotel pans you want to put in one. I use the Carlisle more for pans of beans and such. Butts, briskets and ribs can go in a preheated cooler if you need the insulated carrier for other items.
