Have done a number of good smokes since I got my 008 2 months ago.
Today put in $100 rib roast and the thermostat seem to be out. Maverick went to 300* when set to 225. Thought it was the probe so pulled food probe and it was the same. Turned the dial up and down and it "clicks" at 150* when 275 inside. Unplugged and the temp is now fiannally going down. Not a wood fire as not using wood.
GRRR. Should I move to the grillto salvage?
Was doing Stuart method #2 where I seared at 600* first.
Just checked and temps are 225* smoker and 70* PR. Maybe I will baby sit it and plug and unplug for the next 4 hours??
Any Ideas?
Thanx, Jim
PS--Everthing else I have done has been great except for my own mistakes (too much wood)
