I was lazy tonight and didn't want to watch the mild Italian sausage cook on the grill. Afterall, I'd have to stand there and watch for flareups, squirt the flames, and generally babysit the little darlings. So I threw them into the Cookshack at 250* with wild cherry wood and walked away. Halfway through the 2 hr. smoke, I threw on some hotdogs(what the heck) and walked away again.

Well, the sausage turned out pretty good, so did the dogs (they split open just I like them from the grill). You couldn't tell the Italian sausage taste that much since they were masked a little by the delicious smoke flavoring. But they tasted pretty good, didn't require any attention, and I got to watch the home run derby. Out of the norm, maybe. Fit right into the schedule, you bet.
