Hopefully someone who has experienced this will be able to shed some light. Unfortunately, CS is closed today or you could just call them.

Searching the forum for posts with "HI probe" might get you some hits.

Meanwhile, if the cooker temperature seems right as measured by an oven thermometer, you can just keep on cooking. Check the meat every now and then with an instant read or meat thermometer.
For those that may search "HI" in the future let me tell you what cookshack told me to test. They said to set the temp to 140 degrees and then nstick my probe in th vent to see if it also show 140 or as they said pretty darn close. I am testing this now. But the smokers past 140 and is now in the 200 degree range so I am waiting to see if this settles down before I place the probe into the vent hole.
Well temp still climbing so I have place probe thinking the two are trying to sync up. We shall see. Well probe says HI that interesting ....still waiting...time for a glass of wine. Well temp now at 275 and probe says Hi. Calling cookshack again tomorrow.
