I uncovered my 5 yr old smokett after the winter, plate of fresh salmon in hand. No smoke, not heat and blew the surge protector

. Any one else experience something similar?

Dad loves his smoke salmon for easter...he is going to hate me.

If it were me, I'd try plugging the smoker into the electrical outlet direct and see if it works.

Yeah, try to plug it direct (no surge) to see if it was just the surge protector that died, or the smoker.

Do it early today, so we can help if we can.

Thanks folks tried that still no juice. Customer service said to open up the back and see if there is moisture inside, then give them a call back.

Yeah, if you get moisture and or water inside is could easily blow a GFIC. Let it sit in the sun (if you have any) and let it dry out. Calling customer service was the smart thing to do.
